TEFAQ Writing Rules

Core rules

  • follow the template closely
  • reuse phrase blocks when useful
  • keep language clear and exam-oriented
  • prefer present tense unless the exercise requires something else
  • keep arguments simple and easy to control

Mandatory elements in strict mode

  • minimum 200 words
  • formal letter format
  • at least 2 arguments
  • 1 Canada-style statistic/example
  • 1 “il ne faut pas oublier que…” sentence
  • 1 “ce qui renforce l’idée…” sentence
  • 1 concession / refutation block

Correction focus

When reviewing your draft, check:

  • articles and plurals
  • masculine/feminine agreement
  • verb endings
  • fixed formal expressions
  • capitalization after punctuation
  • natural wording
